CERAMIC COATING

If you are looking for an incredibly long-lasting way to protect your car’s exterior from the elements, then you have probably heard of the term “ceramic coating”. The coatings are formulated for use on paintwork, glass and alloy wheels, to provide years of protection.

A ceramic coating is a chemical polymer containing silicone oxide, derived from quartz crystals in a liquid format. It is applied to the exterior of a vehicle to protect it from external paint damage, achieving this by creating a clear durable and hydrophobic layer of protection that provides superior defence against the elements. Coatings are an alternative to traditional waxing, they are semi-permanent and do not degrade in normal atmospheric conditions or  seasonal changes, due to their highly durable properties compared with waxes, resulting in the effects lasting years rather than months.

As previously mentioned, ceramic coatings are available for use on glass, wheels, brake callipers, suspension, plastics trims, and even  the interior.  In other words any surface can be coated for added 360° protection. So if you are looking for a simple and effective way to protect your investment and keep your car looking its best, consider the many benefits below of ceramic coatings.

Protection From Harmful UV Rays

The sun’s UV rays can be incredibly damaging to your car’s paint, causing it to fade and lose its shine. With a ceramic coating, your car’s paintwork is protected from oxidation -  preventing clear coat degradation from harmful UV rays. This will keep the vehicle looking vibrant and at it’s best for years.

Hydrophobic Water Behaviour for Easy Cleaning

Traditional polishing and waxing can often be a laborious and time consuming process. Ceramic coating eliminates these difficulties. The coating bonds to your car’s surface and repels water, allowing dirt and grime to simply bead and slide off. Coatings also prevent a larger build up of contamination such as tar and iron fallout. This is due to the slick properties  of the coating, the slicker the surface the less likely the dirt and grime will adhere to it. There are two major advantages to this, firstly, routine maintenance cleaning will be faster and less labour intensive, secondly,  you will avoid having to scrub the paintwork as there is a lot less dirt in the first place. Scratches and swirls in the paintwork are often a result of rigorous rubbing and incorrect cleaning techniques.

The Ultimate Finish & Gloss

Ceramic coatings are  for those individuals who demand the ultimate shine and finish as they provide your car with a deep, glossy look, bringing out the best in your car’s original paintwork. Ceramic coatings allow you to enjoy a beautiful and long-lasting shine that will make your car stand out.

* It is important to note that ceramic coatings do not protect against deep scratches, scuffs, and stone chips. *
